About
“You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but to live until you die.”
- Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the modern hospice movement
Hospice of the Valley's mission focuses on caring, not curing. Hospice treats the whole person – body, mind and spirit – as well as nurturing the family. When someone has a life-limiting illness, everyone needs support.
A team of professionals – doctors, nurses, social workers, nurse's aides, pastoral counselors and volunteers - delivers the care, usually in the patient's home. They assist with the transition, helping patients stay pain-free, comfortable and fully engaged in their lives.
