Patients, Families & Friends

Hospice of the Valley understands that dementia is a long journey for the person with the disease and for the family. Based on the hospice principles of caring for the body, mind and spirit, our services are designed to support you along the way.

For caregivers, we offer respite care, grief counseling, education and an opportunity to connect with other families sharing similar experiences. We provide training for creating new connections and experiences with your loved one, regardless of the stage of his or her disease.. For example, we have found that music often triggers pleasant memories of times past, so our staff and volunteers often sing to patients and encourage family members to do the same. We also offer visits from licensed pet therapy volunteers to patients and families who enjoy animals.
