Donation FAQs

  1. How do I make a donation?
    There are several ways to make a donation.
    1. You may browse our website, www.hov.org; click on Donate Now.
    2. You may call the Fund Development Department directly at 602.530.6992 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and we can take your credit card information. Calls received after hours will be returned the next business day.
    3. You may mail a check to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Please enclose a note letting us know who the donation is from, who it is in memory of, and the name and address of the family member you would like us to notify. We will send a notification letter to the family letting them know that you have remembered their loved one.
    4. You may drop off the donation at our administrative office (see address above) or any of our facilities, should that be more convenient. Please be aware that there may be a processing delay of a few days for donations that are delivered to locations other than our administrative office on Flower Street.

  2. Does Hospice of the Valley tell the family the amount of my gift?
    No, we do not disclose the amount of individual gifts.

  3. Will I get a receipt?
    Yes, Hospice of the Valley is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible

  4. May I make a donation in memory of someone who was not a patient at HOV?
    Yes, we receive gifts from friends and family all around the world. Please provide the deceased’s name, approximate death date and where they lived last so that we can apply your donation to the correct memorial. In addition, if you can provide the name and address of the family, we will send an acknowledgement to them notifying them of your gift.

  5. What if I don’t know the deceased’s family members?
    Our donations staff will do it’s best to locate family members of the deceased for you.

  6. What if I do not know the deceased’s name?
    If you could provide information such as “the father of Mary Jones who lives at...” then we can use existing records to possibly find the correct name. If we cannot find the deceased’s name, we will send the acknowledgment to the family using a phrase such as; “in memory of your father”.

  7. I have been given several checks and cash for donations to HOV. What do I do with the money?
    The checks can be forwarded to Hospice of the Valley’s administrative office (see address above). If the checks are made out to you or any other entity, please endorse the checks and include a note stating that the money is a donation to Hospice of the Valley. We do not recommend mailing cash. It is suggested that you deposit the cash in your account and send us a check or exchange the cash for a money order. We do ask that you provide us with the name and address of the donor and cash amount so we can send a receipt for their gift.

  8. May I send a donation on behalf of someone else?
    Yes, please provide us with the name and address of the donor and we will send them a receipt.

  9. Are there other ways to make a donation to Hospice of the Valley?
    Yes, the “Ways to Give” button on this website provides that information.

  10. Can I make a donation online if I do not live in the United States?
    Yes, as long as your credit card is issued from a bank located in the United States. If not, you can download our donations form and mail a check to our administrative office.
