Light Up a Life brings healing and hope
More than a thousand people gathered at Steele Indian School Park for Hospice of the Valley’s “Light Up a Life,” a community remembrance event honoring loved ones who have died.
Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, was a day of on-again, off-again rain—but the skies cleared just before the event started at the grassy outdoor amphitheater. Brophy Men’s Chorale sang. Then the crowd watched the black-and-white photos of their family members and friends projected on giant screens against the night sky.
“It’s a lovely way to pay respect,” said Johanna Niewold, whose husband died on HOV’s service.
