Welcome to our new website

Debbie Shumway

by Debbie Shumway
Executive Director

In honor of our 40th anniversary, we have created a new website, designed to make it easy for you to learn about hospice and palliative care, explore our services, get involved through volunteering and participate in many other important ways.

We offer individuals and families comfort, understanding and guidance at one of the most challenging times of life. The stories shared by our patients and families are inspiring testimonies to their resilience.

The full gamut of services is covered—from palliative care for patients needing support but not ready for hospice to living will forms to our 11th Hour Companion program, offering a compassionate presence at the bedside to patients who are alone and to family members who want someone with them.

There’s some fun stuff, too! Be sure to check out the Pet Connections page. Our four-legged furry volunteers have unique personalities and sensitive souls that make patients’ days brighter. Also take a look at our Events section for photos of special events, including our annual Light Up a Life community celebration. Our website shares the stories of Hospice of the Valley in a more visual way, with touching photographs and warmth that convey the feeling of what we do.

I’d like to thank our dynamite community engagement team for leading this project, as well as Riester, our marketing and communications firm, for making it happen. Beautiful job, guys!

And I’d like to hear from you. Tell me about your experience with our website—what you like, what you don’t like, and what issues you have, if any. Our goal is to make this an interactive website with two-way communication. Feel free to leave us a comment below.

It has been our honor to care for Valley families for the past 40 years. If you have a moment, visit our Remembrance Book and please share your memories with us.
