Welcome to the New Song Center for Grieving Children

When tragedy claims the life of a loved one, families often need help finding a way to heal. The New Song Center for Grieving Children is here to provide nurturing support for grieving children, teens, young adults and their families.

Funded through donations and operated by not-for-profit Hospice of the Valley, New Song Center is the only ongoing grief support group program in Maricopa County that focuses on children and families. New Song Center services are open to all families in our community and are not dependent on having had a family member on Hospice of the Valley care.

Family Support Groups

Our age-specific grief support groups serve children ages 5–17, young adults ages 18–25, and their parent or guardian. Children are supported through developmentally appropriate activities including art, play and journaling. Adults attend their own support groups, where they learn how to help children and teens process grief in a healthy manner while learning how to cope with loss themselves. Other Community Programs

We also lead support groups on school campuses, provide educational workshops for the community, and conduct comprehensive training for grief support facilitation. Visit our Programs & Services page for more information.
